Three decades, one industry.

Stablemate was first written in 1993, in the era when stud farm offices ran on paper diaries, custom Access databases, and faxed nomination forms. From the start it was built for one industry — thoroughbred breeding — and it has stayed there ever since.

For three decades it was a desktop application. Solid, dependable, installed on hundreds of office machines across Britain, Ireland, and beyond. But by the early 2020s, customers were asking the same questions: can I check this from my phone? Can the vet have read access from the yard? Can the bookkeeper get into it from home?

In 2024, we rewrote the whole thing for the web. Same domain knowledge, same workflows the industry had refined over thirty years — now cloud-hosted, in a browser, on any device. No installer, no Windows lock-in, no version-mismatch headaches.

What we kept: every workflow that thoroughbred stud managers had told us mattered. What we added: real-time multi-user access, partnership-aware invoicing, electronic signatures on nomination contracts, automated vaccination scheduling, native Sage and Xero integration, and a dedicated database per customer.
